The organization:
The Plant Design department is involved in the engineering of (multidisciplinary) projects in the petrochemical, paper, process, water and food industries; from preliminary study to turnkey realization. The Plant Design department is part of the Industrial Projects application area and carries out work in the office and at the customer’s location.
Job information:
As a Process Engineer in the Plant Design department, you work with a high degree of independence. The Process Engineer determines together with the customer the process-technical requirements that the installation must meet. A Process Engineer reports to and receives instructions from the project leader, lead engineer and/or the group leader of the department. In multidisciplinary projects, the Process Engineer consults with other professional disciplines within the organization.
Tasks:
• As a Process Engineer, masters all stages within a technical project;
• Is able to translate the customer’s requirements/wishes into technical documents;
• Is willing to perform his work at the customer’s location where necessary;
• Is able to independently perform conceptual and basic (process) engineering;
• Consults with project leader, lead engineer and/or group leader regarding planning,
progress and assignment/design changes;
• Maintaining contact with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
• Is responsible for the organisational and technical implementation of the work assigned to him within the time and budget;
• Is responsible for the quality of the delivered work, including control registrations and design verifications.
Competences:
• Is authorized to give advice in the context of the technical implementation of projects;
• Is authorised to draw up budgets for tenders with regard to assignments and/or design changes;
• Is authorized to make proposals for improvement with regard to the quality of the work.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
• A technical education at Bachelor/Masters level;
• Experience (3 years minimum) in the (process) industry;
• Knowledge in the field of process technology;
• You can translate the customer’s wishes into a mass/energy balance/PFD/P&ID;
• You are able to perform technical calculations regarding the process design;
• You can specify fittings and equipment parts for the purpose of process design;
• You have the ability to solve issues quickly and creatively;
• Knowledge of process technical software programs and the motivation to develop further in this;
• Has good communication skills and is used to communicating effectively with the (customer) organization;
• Masters software packages in the field of word processing, spreadsheets and planning;
• Excellence skills of the English language in word and writing, Dutch and German is an advantage.
• Willing to supervise and train colleagues;
• Willing to expand his/her knowledge;
• A good dose of enthusiasm and drive to achieve a positive result.
